Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Westfield does not sell your personal information.

Specifically, Westfield does not sell your personal information for money. The California Consumer Privacy Act, however, uses a definition of "sell" that includes "other consideration" - a term that is not defined in the statute and, as of this publication, has not been clarified by California regulators or the courts. So here's what we do:

  • We do not sell your personal information for money.
  • We do not give your information to others in exchange for goods or services.
  • We do not accept any discounts, price breaks or other financial benefits for your information.
  • However, we do share your information with third-parties for fraud control efforts. This is an explicitly allowed use. You may not opt out of it. Both the company and our insureds benefit from effective anti-fraud activities.
  • We also share your information with third-parties in order to deliver the insurance services and transactions that you requested or which insurance regulations, laws or other statutes require of us. This also is an allowed use and you may not opt out of it.
  • We use third-party services such as the Google Analytics to understand how you and others like you use our products and services. We do not think this counts as "consideration" under the CCPA.

The bottom line is that we don't think we sell your personal information even under the CCPA's definition.

Nevertheless, California law requires us to provide you the opportunity to affirm that you don't want us to do what we've already said we won't do.

In order to accept and process your request, we're going to have to ask for some specific information so we know exactly whose information you want us to look for. Yes, this means you will have to give us rather a lot of personal information in order to exercise the rights defined in the CCPA.

We are required by law to verify the identity of the person making this request.  After clicking "continue" below, please follow the prompts to attach a copy of a government-issued document verifying your identity.  Allowable identity verification documents are:

  • Driver's License
  • Other state issued identification card

If you are an Authorized Agent, we are also required to confirm your right to submit this request on behalf of your principal.  You will need to attach your authorizing document in addition to your identification document.  Allowable authorizing documents are:

  • A notarized General Power of Attorney
  • A notarized Special Power of Attorney specifically referencing these actions
  • If a parent or guardian submitting for a minor, a certified birth certificate or adoption papers showing both your and the minor's full names.

These documents will be retained only for as long as necessary to verify your right to act as an Authorized Agent and/or to comply with applicable law.

If you are an Authorized Agent, by clicking "Continue" below, you are attesting under penalty of perjury that you are the person identified in the Authorized Agent document(s) and that you are legally acting on behalf of the person identified in the Identity Verification document(s).  Otherwise,  by clicking "Continue" below, you are attesting under penalty of perjury that you are the person identified in the attached document(s).
